2. How To Apply For NDA Examination?

The registrations for all NDA exams (like Air force, Navy, & Army) start with the release of notification by the commission. Candidates are given a month’s time to fill the NDA Application form for registration.

 3. Eligibility For NDA Examination?

For the Air Force, Navy, and Naval Academy of NDA, candidates must pass 12th pass under the 10+2 pattern of school education with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

  • Educational: Required Minimum education qualification is 12th pass under 10+2 pattern of school education in maths and science stream.
  • Age: Candidates must be of the age group 16.5 years to 19.5 years.
  • Gender: Only unmarried male candidates are allowed to apply for NDA exams.

4. Exam Pattern of NDA Examination?

NDA exam is organized in two stages – First is a Written Exam and the second is SSB Interview.

UPSC holds the exam recruitment for NDA while SSB conducts the interview round, this is called SSB interview.

  •  The written exam is conducted in two parts – 1st in Mathematics and 2nd is General Ability Test. The total duration of the paper is 5 hours.
  •  GAT is further subdivided into 2 parts – Part A is an English paper and part B is a General Knowledge paper.
  •  The Total of NDA written exams counts to 900 marks i.e. 300 marks for Maths and 600 marks for GAT.
  • The SSB Interview is also conducted in 2 stages and carries 900 marks.
  •  Stage 1 comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT).
  •  Stage 2 Comprises Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days.

Candidates selected through NDA exam will be starting paid a stipend of Rs. 56100/- per month during the training period. After the training, the candidate will be commissioned as a Lieutenant with a pay scale of Rs. 56,100/- to Rs. 1,78,500/ per month.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the NDA exams. The candidates who have passed/ appearing 10th examinations or Passout graduate can give this exam. However, the age of the candidate has to be between 17 yrs to 19 yrs
